Micah Reese Wilson

I am Micah Wilson, a weekend evening anchor/reporter at 5NEWS in NW Arkansas. I have a passion for telling stories to inform, connect, and amplify voices of the community.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I am a proud advocate of my neighborhood Chisholm Creek (aka the Creek) in OKC. 

​

Prior to 5NEWS, I worked at UCentral News, the student-run TV station at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO.) There, I worked as an anchor, multimedia journalist, and weather anchor.

 

While attending UCO, I became involved in several student organizations. Such as a senator for the student government, director of curriculum for the leadership academy, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., president for the university’s chapter of the NAACP, and the founding president of the university’s Association of Black Journalists; which I now advise.

In my free time, I love to try new food places around town, listen to music (especially hip-hop,) and meet new friends.

 

My favorite part about this career is getting involved in the community. As a "community-focused storyteller," I have a passion for underserved people and organizations paired with a steadfast spirit of empathy. I encourage all viewers/friends to connect with me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
